The previous weekend, April 20 and 21, 2024, and throughout the day, various actions and activities were held with the aim of introducing the local community to modern forms of artistic education, including trainings, advisory guidance of young talents, evenings of young artists, visual art exhibition, thematic tributes to important artists who influenced defining the sociocultural value and idealistic complexion of modern Greece, as well as laboratories that encourage experimentation and interaction with the scientific process. For the first time, the cycle of tributes has been completed during the current academic year, 2023-24 by organizing tributes for seven modern muses, who experience the nine of the ancient era:
Terpsichore, the muse of dance
Melthalia of the acting art,
Eyterpe the muse of musical education,
Polymnis Calliepoussa, of visual arts,
Cleo of historical literature,
Erato, of lyric poetry and
Ourania, the muse of Astronomy!
The success and positive response of the public was a springboard to continue upgrading and enriching our actions. The separation of the two-day activities and the special dedication per thematic field of this initiative was proposed. After the organizing and advisory committee took into account all the observations, comments and cheers, which were not few, they came to the following:
In the new period of artistic education actions, the tributes will now be distinguished in "time eneken" awards for living artists who offered beyond their intense artistic activity and to the wider social development with positive impressions and in tribute "eteon esti" for artists who are not alive and were figures of reference for the cultural and socio-political course of our country!
Also, stricter criteria and procedures are defined for the objective, if possible, approach to the assessment of particular inclinations of young people aged 13-30, dividing them into three large categories, early phase (13-18 years), intermediate stage (19- 25 years) and late phase (26-30 years). In the evenings of young artists, mixed groups may participate with participation of at least 1/3 of people under 30 years of age.
