MACs project Summary
It is a common belief and contemporary strategy of behavioral change, to boost quality of life & sustainable environment campaigns through arts & culture. EERco is aiming to "quality of life" development by supporting European Solidarity Corps (ESC) projects related to Arts and Humanities. Many movements in art history have tried to change society as to support that art can play a big role in quality of life. In our ESC project the volunteer shall 1) learn & support activities related to personal development and Youth Work experiences as well as, relevant training, in behalf of ESAI EN ROI. 2) visit other associations of Central-Macedonia; job-shadowing at local art-schools or art-houses. 3) run a project related to arts & society, attributing to the promotion of local culture, customs & history 4) create his own entertainment activities attended by children, elderly, social minorities or disabled population 4) an opportunity to implicate local community to his/her project
Baus's Motivation Letter
With active participation as a volunteer in various initiatives, I highlight my involvement in Intramurs Festival in Valencia, supported by the city council and the presidency of the Valencian Community. My contribution ranged from logistical organization to attendance at cultural events. Additionally, in 2018, I collaborated as a volunteer in the international exhibition What I've Been, organized by Villa Romana and the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo, taking part in the coordination and facilitation of this large-scale event and providing support to the artists. Furthermore, I have dedicated time as a volunteer in soup kitchens, participating in the distribution of food for those in need. These experiences have raised my awareness of social realities, motivating me to actively contribute to the fight against inequality. These encounters have strengthened my commitment to community service and provided me with valuable skills in event management, teamwork, and social sensitivity. I am eager to apply these experiences in future initiatives and contribute to the well-being of society. The motivation to be part of the European Solidarity Corps is rooted in my strong belief in the transformative impact of volunteering and my deep desire to contribute to projects with a positive impact. My expectations include the development of intercultural skills, strengthening my teamwork abilities, and the opportunity to contribute significantly to the project.
I aspire to learn through non-formal educational methods that foster autonomy, creativity, and problem-solving. I aim to acquire practical skills, such as community leadership and project management, valuable not only for the current project but also for future endeavors in business and volunteer activities.
Upon returning home, I plan to share my learned lessons and experiences through presentations in schools and local communities. I will also use online platforms to disseminate the impact of the project, inspiring others to participate in similar initiatives and contribute to the spirit of solidarity. My future plans focus on continuing my commitment to volunteering and cultural, artistic, and social action, aspiring to work in the field of education and community development, applying the skills gained during my participation in the European Solidarity Corps and contributing to the well-being of communities.
